A wealth principle

For a long time, I measured financial progress by one number: net worth.

More assets.

More investments.

More on paper.

But net worth on paper doesn't tell you if you're actually enjoying your life.

You can have a healthy balance sheet and still feel like you're running on empty — no time, no energy, no peace of mind.

So here's the question most financial content never asks:

If your income or lifestyle changed tomorrow — would you lose your finances, or would you lose yourself?

Because there's a difference between net worth and enjoyment capacity.

Real wealth isn't just what you accumulate. It's having the time, energy, and peace of mind to actually enjoy what you've built.

Most financial advice only talks about one of them. But there's a scoreboard nobody sees and it matters more than the one everyone's chasing.
